During the devastating floods in Texas, a father left a touching voicemail for his children before losing his life. The floods on July 4 caused the Guadalupe River to overflow, killing at least 109 people and leaving many missing.
Jeff Ramsey, 61, was staying with his wife Tanya and their dog in an airstream camper at an RV park in Kerrville when the flood struck. His son Jake shared how his father called him and his sister in the early morning, leaving a goodbye message.
“He said, ‘I love you so much. It doesn’t look like we’re going to make it. Tell Rachey I love her,’” Jake recalled. The voicemail captured the fear in Jeff’s voice, with rushing water audible in the background.
Jeff also warned his wife’s family nearby, calling them to alert them of the danger. Jake said, “He saved their lives because their cabin was destroyed by the flood.”
This story highlights the bravery and love of a father facing unimaginable danger, leaving a lasting message for his family.
