A tragic incident occurred on Lefkada island in Greece when a 24-year-old Czech tourist collapsed just after her boyfriend proposed at the Church of Prophet Elias. Known for its stunning location, the church became the site of a medical emergency.
The woman lost consciousness shortly after the proposal. Emergency responders, including paramedics and firefighters, arrived promptly and transported her to Lefkada Hospital. She was later transferred to Ioannina for further treatment.
Doctors confirmed she had a cerebral hemorrhage, a type of stroke caused by bleeding within the brain tissue. This serious condition requires urgent care to prevent further damage.
Symptoms of a brain bleed can include severe headaches, nausea, vomiting, weakness or numbness, seizures, vision problems, and difficulty speaking or swallowing.
Brain hemorrhages can be caused by trauma, high blood pressure, aneurysms, and other medical factors. The woman’s condition is critical, and medical teams are closely monitoring her progress.
