Hailey Welch’s Social Media Account Sale Raises Eyebrows Amid Crypto Fallout

Hailey Welch, the woman behind the viral “Hawk Tuah” phrase, has reportedly sold one of her social media pages for a staggering $325,000. Welch’s rise to fame began in June 2024 after a clip of her went viral, leading to a surge in followers and business opportunities.

Her recent cryptocurrency, $HAWK, initially reached nearly half a billion dollars in market cap but crashed soon after, causing controversy and accusations of a “rugpull.” Despite this, Welch’s social media presence remained strong enough to sell a related page with almost 400,000 followers.

The buyer, whose identity remains unknown, changed the page’s name and shared proof of the purchase price. However, many fans criticized the deal on social media, arguing that paying $1 per follower was excessive and that the account’s value would quickly diminish. Some suggested the buyer was overpaying and that Welch could easily start fresh with a new account.
