A Reddit user woke up to a shocking sight: a backwards “C” that looked like it was written in blood on his bedroom wall. His wife noticed it first, and the couple was understandably disturbed.
Their house, built in 1885, has had many issues, so they considered natural causes. Rather than assuming paranormal activity, they turned to Reddit for ideas.
Many users suggested the mark was caused by ladybugs, which release pheromones to attract mates. Although these pheromones aren’t usually visible, the reddish stain could be related to insect secretions or droppings.
The Redditor confirmed their house was yellow, a color that attracts ladybugs. Another explanation offered was that stink bug droppings formed the mark.
