Recently released FBI files have brought renewed attention to the DB Cooper hijacking, a case that has captivated the public since 1971. After securing the money and releasing the passengers, he disappeared by parachuting from the aircraft, leaving behind a trail of questions.

The new documents reveal the FBI’s extensive investigation, which included following up on hundreds of tips. Some leads, such as the claim that Cooper was a man in a wheelchair, were quickly ruled out. Others involved suspects with backgrounds in aviation or parachuting, but none could be conclusively tied to the hijacking.
