My Sister’s Wedding Stunt Led to My Sweet Revenge

Growing up, my sister, Emily, always stole my spotlight, from birthdays to school events. When she wanted to announce her pregnancy at my wedding, I told her no, sharing that I was pregnant with Tom’s child. “Please don’t,” I pleaded. She nodded, but I should’ve known better. At the wedding, as I prepared to share our news, Emily stood, clinking her glass. “I’m expecting!” she shouted, basking in the applause. Guests surrounded her, ignoring me in my bridal dress. Her sly smile cut deep, but I stayed quiet, plotting my response.

I learned I was having twins, a secret Tom and I guarded. Emily’s gender reveal, with balloons and dance music, was my moment. I hid my bump under a flowing top, watching Emily shine as she sliced a cake revealing blue—a boy. Cheers filled the room, but I stood up. “I have something to share!” I said, holding two sonograms. “Tom and I are having twins!” The crowd roared, overshadowing Emily’s news. Guests flocked to me, while Emily, stunned, fled to the yard. She returned, furious, shouting, “You stole my day!”

I shrugged. “I thought it was okay, like you announcing at my wedding.” Emily’s eyes widened, caught in her own game. She stormed out, guests giggling. Three months later, she’s silent, giving me peace. Tom finds it funny, though he says I went far. My parents push for reconciliation, but I’m content. My twins will arrive without Emily’s drama. Her spotlight grab failed this time, and I’ve learned to stand up for my moments, proving family doesn’t mean tolerating betrayal.
