The Christmas Gift of Revenge

Two days before Christmas, I stumbled upon a hidden gift box in my husband Jimmy’s closet. The tag read “LOVE YOU, JULIE!” – a shocking revelation that shattered my trust. But instead of tears and screams, I concocted a plan for a bold act of revenge.

Jimmy’s late nights had become the norm, and I’d grown accustomed to decorating the house alone while he worked. But the gift box was the final straw. I discovered it tucked away in his closet, filled with a diamond necklace – the exact one I’d admired months ago. The irony was striking.

I sought out my friend Mark, who owed me a favor from my college days. I asked him to modify the gift box, and he agreed. We created a spring-loaded device that would unleash a green paint explosion when the lid was opened. The anticipation was exhilarating.

On Christmas morning, Jimmy left for a supposed “emergency client meeting” at Honey Bunz, our favorite restaurant. I followed him, curious about the mysterious Julie. Through the window, I watched as Jimmy presented the gift box to his mistress. Julie’s eyes widened as she opened the box, triggering the paint explosion.

The scene was chaotic, with Julie shrieking and Jimmy frozen in shock. The green paint covered them both, and the restaurant patrons couldn’t help but laugh. I recorded the entire incident on my phone, feeling a mix of satisfaction and vindication.

When Jimmy returned home, covered in green paint, I greeted him with a mixture of amusement and anger. He tried to explain the situation, but I wasn’t interested. I handed him divorce papers, and he realized the gravity of his mistakes.

As I drove away, I caught a glimpse of Jimmy standing in our driveway, a pathetic green figure. My phone buzzed with notifications – someone had posted the incident online, and it was going viral. The video would soon become infamous, earning Jimmy the title of “the green Christmas cheater.”

I, on the other hand, was doing just fine. The diamond necklace sparkled on my neck, a reminder of my clever revenge. Every time it caught the light, I smiled, knowing I’d wrapped up my marriage with a bow and a whole lot of green paint.
